WWW Wednesday: 22nd August 2018

It’s WWW Wednesday time! Hosted by blogger Sam over at Taking on a World of Words, if you’d like to join in (this is a weekly meme but I’m averaging monthly posts on it so far, so it’s fully flexible) all you have to do is answer the three questions below and pop your blog link on Sam’s weekly post in the comments.

So, this week…

What are you currently reading?

Clean by Juno Dawson. For some reason I thought this was a biography, but when I started, discovered it’s fiction. No matter – it’s got me hooked and I’ve heard great things about it. It’s the story of 17-year-old socialite Lexi as she struggles to get over her drug addiction.

What did you recently finish reading?

Technically listened to, as I have just completed the 22 hour audiobook of The Other Boleyn Girl by Philippa Gregory. Don’t let the run time put you off, as it’s fantastic! I listened to the version narrated by Vanessa Kirby (she played Princess Margaret in The Crown) and she’s just the most fitting, brilliant narrator. The story had me gripped too – a fictional account of Anne and Mary Boleyn’s relationships with King Henry VIII. If you are a fan of the Royal Family / historical reads, this is a must.

What do you think you’ll read next?

I’m deciding between The Wisdom of Sally Red Shoes by Ruth Hogan or The Forgotten Guide to Happiness by Sophie Jenkins. I have read Ruth Hogan’s debut novel, The Keeper of Lost Things and adored it, so very much want to give her next book a read. The Forgotten Guide to Happiness is apparently a similar read (in tone) to The Keeper of Lost Things, so hopefully I’ll enjoy both of them!

I’d love to know what you’re reading / have just read! I’m nosey like that.

    1. I loved it so much I’m listening to the next one – The Boleyn Inheritance – on audiobook now! I do a lot of walking so audiobooks are great for that!

        1. They really are! If it’s a great one I find myself walking the longer way home just to listen to a little bit more 😊

    1. I hadn’t heard of these, but just looked them up and they both seem right up my street, so I’ve added them to my (never ending!) TBR!

  1. Clean sounds like my kind of read…and I’ve been eyeing The Keeper of Lost Things. Love the title and the idea of someone in charge of lost things.

I’ve also been pondering The Other Boleyn Girl, as I am a big fan of the Royals.

Thanks for sharing, and here’s MY WWW POST
