As a partner post to my 2023 books of the year blog, I’m sharing my most-read reviews of 2023, too. I always find it really interesting to see the similarities and differences between by favourite books and the ones loved by you. So here they are!

My 6 most read reviews of 2023
/ Strange Sally Diamond by Liz Nugent
First on the list, taking the crown as my most-read review (and a slot on my fave read list too) is Strange Sally Diamond. A brilliant psychological thriller that’s, I’d bet, unlike any you’ve read before. It perfectly weaves tenderness throughout to really make you care for Sally.
So glad to see The Villa on this list – it’s one of my most-loved genres, fiction that borrows heavily from a real life story. In this case, it’s the life of author, Mary Shelley. The story is set in the present day but blends elements of historical fiction for a really great read.
It’s easy to see why this high-adrenaline thriller was such a hit. Lucy Clarke is so good at crafting female characters that feel so real and then putting them in edge-of-your-seat situations. The best combo really for a guaranteed page-turning read.

/ Aisling Ever After by Emer McLysaght and Sarah Breen
Ahh, love that so many of you adore Aisling as much as me! Aisling Ever After is the final book (book 5) in the Aisling series and brings our heroine’s story to a beautiful, funny, heart-warming conclusion. Loved every second of this book, only sad there’s not more instalments of Aisling’s life to look forward to!
/ Good Material by Dolly Alderton
It’s always a treat reading a Dolly book so I’m not surprise to see her new novel, Good Material taking a slot in this list. Written in her trademark witty, clever tone with amazing pop-culture references and laugh-out-loud moments, this is a story of a broken relationship, told from both sides of the couple.
/ Just Another Missing Person by Gillian McAllister
Interesting to see Gillian McAllister rounding off this list with Just Another Missing Person as her brilliant book from last year, Wrong Place Wrong Time was my most read review of 2022. Just Another Missing Person is another brilliant read – it’s a missing person case that throws in a delicious twist for an ending you won’t see coming.
All amazing books – definitely ones to try in the new year if you haven’t already! Have you read any of these? Let me know!
I just had a look at my most read reviews. Pleased to see that one is probably my favourite book of the year, The Covenant of Water by Abraham Verghese. Of the ten most read reviews on my blog, only three are posts from this year. Mysterious!
