I can’t believe it’s December already! Only one month left to get through the rest of my 2017 TBR books. Looking at the length of the list right now, I don’t think that’s going to happen! But, I did read some great books in November to tick off my list:
- The Vegetarian by Han Kang – review here
- Time in My Pocket by Gina Dewink – review here
- The House by Simon Lelic – review here
- The Betrayals by Fiona Neill – review here
- Stay With Me by Ayobami Adebayo – review here
- The Flats by Kate Birdsall – review here
My Book of the Month would have to be Stay With Me, it was just so beautifully written and emotionally evocative, I’ve been recommending it to everyone! I’d heard for a while that The Vegetarian was worth a read, so when I spotted it in the library, I picked it up and although it was definitely one of the more unsettling reads I’ve had this year, it was also one of the most intriguing. I was kindly gifted The House as part of an Instagram book tour and it was an interesting mix of supernatural and psychological thriller that kept me hooked. So, this month been a varied bag in terms of genre, but I’ve really enjoyed that.
Excitingly, November also saw my very first author interview, with the lovely Gina Dewink, go live on the blog. I’d really enjoyed her book, Time in My Pocket, so had a chat with her about her inspiration and writing process, you can take a little look at the interview here.
Now, onto December. I’ve just finished a truly engrossing read, Good Me Bad Me by Ali Land, so look out for my review of that one. Plus, I had a very successful charity shop trip yesterday and managed to find two books on my TBR – His Bloody Project by Graeme Macrae Burnet and Olive Kitteridge by Elizabeth Strout, so I will hopefully have time to read those before the year is out!
