WWW Wednesday: 10th November 2021

November’s WWW Wednesday is here. Crazy that this is my penultimate one of the year! This is a weekly (but I tend to do it monthly) challenge, hosted by Sam at Taking on a World of Words.

If you’re curious about what other people are reading right now too, join in! All you have to do is answer the three bookish questions below and pop your blog link on Sam’s weekly post in the comments.

/ WHAT ARE YOU READING NOW?

Homegoing by Yaa Gyasi has been on my TBR for waaaayyyyy too long. I loved Transcendent Kingdom and I’m engrossed in this story already too. Looking forward to seeing where it’s going to go!

/ WHAT HAVE YOU RECENTLY READ?

If you love clever murder mysteries, then I highly recommend The Postscript Murders by Elly Griffiths. It’s set near my hometown of Brighton, so I loved the familiar references but that wasn’t the only reason – it really is a cracking story that is both page-turning and cosy – with a murderous edge.

/ WHAT WILL YOU READ NEXT?

I got Beautiful World, Where Are You by Sally Rooney for my birthday back in September, but haven’t had time to read it yet, so think the time has finally arrived! Here’s the blurb:

Alice, a novelist, meets Felix, who works in a warehouse, and asks him if he’d like to travel to Rome with her. In Dublin, her best friend, Eileen, is getting over a break-up and slips back into flirting with Simon, a man she has known since childhood. Alice, Felix, Eileen, and Simon are still young—but life is catching up with them.

They desire each other, they delude each other, they get together, they break apart. They have sex, they worry about sex, they worry about their friendships and the world they live in. Are they standing in the last lighted room before the darkness, bearing witness to something? Will they find a way to believe in a beautiful world?

Have you read this much-hyped new release from Sally Rooney? What did you think? I’d love to know what you’re reading this week / plan on reading soon – let me know below!
