/ Wrong Place Wrong Time by Gillian McAllister
This is an amazing read that straddles the mother/son relationship and time travel genres, with a cracking murder mystery thrown in too. Can you stop a murder after it’s happened? Well, add Wrong Place Wrong Time to your summer TBR and find out…
/ The Murder of Graham Catton by Katie Lowe
I thought this was a masterclass in murder mystery writing, with a very contemporary twist on the genre that made it even more enjoyable. It balances just the right amount of back story with a fast pace, duplicitous characters and highly satisfying ending. Hannah’s husband was murdered 10 years ago and now, the host of a true crime podcast believes the wrong man was put in prison for it. Hannah’s world is turned upside down – just who did murder her husband?
/ I Know What You’ve Done by Dorothy Koomson
Set in and around my hometown of Brighton, I loved the scene setting here and also the fact it was the first thriller I’d read that used lockdown so well as part of its story. Tension dripped from every page in this domestic noir – one of Priscilla’s neighbours killed her, but which one…

/ Rock Paper Scissors by Alice Feeney
A secrets and lies psychological thriller with a touch of Gothic storytelling about it. Husband and wife Adam and Amelia take a trip to a remote Scottish castle where some home truths come out. Add in the fact that Adam has prosopagnosia, a rare condition that means he can’t recognise faces and the potential for danger ramps up. This is SUCH a good story – you won’t see the ending coming at all.
/ Watch Her Fall by Erin Kelly
Just how far will a ballerina go to succeed? Ballet is the perfect backdrop for this high-stakes, high adrenaline read. I loved learning more about the inner-workings of the ballet world and the tone was pitched at just the right dark place to keep you turning those pages. I couldn’t wait to discover the truth about Ava’s story – an excellent psychological thriller!
