It’s summer WWW Wednesday time with my August post This is a weekly (but I tend to do it monthly) challenge, hosted by Sam at Taking on a World of Words. If you’re curious about what other people are reading right now too, join in! All you have to do is answer the three bookish questions below and put your blog link on Sam’s weekly post in the comments.

/ WHAT ARE YOU READING NOW?
I’ve seen a lot of great reviews for The List by Yomi Adegoke and so far (I’m about a 1/4 of the way in) I really like it’s tone and dramatic premise. Ola is a journalist on a magazine that focuses on calling out injustices in the world and media industry. Imagine her horror when a list of potential abusers in the media industry is published, and her fiancé’s name is on there…
/ WHAT HAVE YOU RECENTLY READ?
If you were ever a fan of the UK pop scene then Reach for the Stars is an absolute must-read! Written by music journalist Michael Cragg, it covers the UK pop industry from 2016 – 2006, and features interviews with some of the biggest pop players.
From members of the Spice Girls to Steps, Blue and Girls Aloud, this book is packed full of secrets and juicy quotes, it’s the most fun I’ve had reading in a long time.
/ WHAT WILL YOU READ NEXT?
In an attempt to make a dent in my ‘classic books I should have read by now’ pile, I’m adding Patrica Highsmith’s most famous work to my TBR this month: The Talented Mr. Ripley.
An icon of the psychological suspense genre, the blurb goes a little like this:
Since his debut in 1955, Tom Ripley has evolved into the ultimate bad boy sociopath, influencing countless novelists and filmmakers. In this first novel, we are introduced to suave, handsome Tom Ripley: a young striver, newly arrived in the heady world of Manhattan in the 1950s.
A product of a broken home, branded a “sissy” by his dismissive Aunt Dottie, Ripley becomes enamoured of the moneyed world of his new friend, Dickie Greenleaf. This fondness turns obsessive when Ripley is sent to Italy to bring back his libertine pal but grows enraged by Dickie’s ambivalent feelings for Marge, a charming American dilettante.
Have you read The Talented Mr. Ripley? I’d love to know what you’re reading this week or plan on reading soon – let me know below!
I like the sound of The List. I’ve not read The Talented Mr Ripley. I’ve never watched the film either. I’ve no idea why.
