I’ve really enjoyed my September reads! This month just flew by, in reading and life terms but I managed to post five reviews and thoroughly enjoyed them all. I’m definitely getting better at DNF-ing books I don’t like so being able to look back on reviews as a record of great reads.

My September Book Reviews:
(Click on book title for my full review.)
/ Dead Man Talking by Roddy Doyle
/ Aisling Ever After by Emer McLysaght and Sarah Breen
/ The Appeal by Janice Hallett
/ The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid
/ Before We Say Goodbye by Toshikazu Kawaguchi
I don’t read a lot of book series but one that captured my heart from the first book was Aisling. My review this month, Aisling Ever After, was the fifth and final book in the series and it was the most perfect ending to Aisling’s story. If you want to read a heart-warming tale about highly-relatable Irish woman and her friends, you must pick up the Aisling books!
I also ticked two big books off my TBR – The Appeal and The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo are loved by so many and come with such a high bar which, for me, they both leaped over. I loved both of them and it felt so good to be reducing my TBR, if only fractionally.
Dead Man Talking is a shorter book, part of the brilliant Quick Reads initiative and was a delightful way to pass an afternoon. Roddy Doyle blends wit and humour in a way I really enjoy.
I also looked forward to some upcoming releases (well, one of them was Aisling Ever After), sharing 5 new 2023 books on my radar – I’m excited to crack on and read the remaining 4 on this list – look out for their reviews in future months.
Until next month, happy reading!
I bought The seven husbands of Evelyn Hugo a couple of months back and still ought to read it. Can’t wait 😝

I’m here with feedback. Ma’am? I’ve only got about 40 pages of the book left and I am in awe. What a woman! Really loving it.
