Seeing as it’s the end of year, I thought I’d take a minute to share a little book blogging milestone with you. Back in January I read an eARC of The Cactus by Sarah Haywood and imagine my delight to discover that a quote from my review of The Cactus has actually been printed in the paperback edition of the book! It might seem a tad excessive to write a post about this, but it made me feel so warm and zingy that I wanted to remember it. And here is said quote next to the title page:
When I first started this book blog, it wasn’t to get free books or in the hope that people would read my reviews (I mean, I obviously wanted them to be read, but it wasn’t my main motivation!) It was because I love reading and wanted to remember not only all the books I’ve read, but what exactly it was I liked (or didn’t like) about them. I wasn’t expecting there to be such a fab book blogging community with so many people who want to chat about books, or so many wonderful authors who get it touch about their books, or for it to open me up to reading a far wider range of titles (fiction and non-fiction) than I ever have before. Getting to read books and help get the word out there about them with reviews or blog tours is such a lovely added perk that I wasn’t expecting, so to see a quote from my review in an actual printed book like that was a real juicy cherry on top of my blogging experience.
This has also made Christmas shopping a little easier… yes friends and family, you will be getting a book featuring my review quote in it!
Such an amazing feeling! I also had a quote printed on the back of a final copy of a book this year and every time I enter a bookshop and see it I feel proud. Congrats on your wonderful achievement! x
